Frequently Asked Questions

How long does therapy last?

Short answer: It depends. It’s safe to say that most likely more than a session or two. Change is always happening and sometimes problems sort themselves out on their own, while others stick around for much longer. In our initial sessions together we will discuss your goals and figure out a plan for assessing that the change you desire has occurred.

Some people find that few sessions are sufficient, and others choose to stay for longer. Give therapy some time before making a decision.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network therapist. You can use your benefits with me if your insurance allows it. I will gladly call your insurance company for you (with your permission) to verify your benefits.

Do you see clients in-person?

I provide therapy over a secure HIPAA compliant network. Video therapy is just as effective as in-person based on the current peer-reviewed literature. I am licensed only in the state of California and can only see clients who live here.

Do you have a sliding scale?

I do not provide a sliding scale, but many clients’ insurance qualifies for out-of-network benefits. You can see upwards of 75% in reimbursement depending on your plan. Please note, that the majority of insurance companies will have you pay a deductible first before you can start using your benefits. If you need help sorting this out I can help you figure out what they are before we begin.
